Horsetail: natural ingredient of WonderOver

It has diuretic, remineralizing, anti-inflammatory, vulnerary. One of the key features of the Equisetum (Equisetum arvense L.), also known as horsetail, is the high silica content which makes it one of the plants remineralizing more valid today. The silicic acid has the property to increase the elasticity of the tissues and of benefit to the reconstruction of the skeleton, for which it is proposed a treatment based on horsetail to speed healing from fractures.

The principal actions of therapeutic horsetail are due to the abundance of silica, calcium and potassium and other minerals. In the human body there are about 80 gr. silicon localized mainly in the following organs: lungs, spleen, pancreas, adrenal glands and bone tendons dental enamel heart arteries and kidneys.

The skin appendages such as hair and nails hairs are also rich in silica. Recent biological studies have shown that in the process of calcification of the bones, in addition to calcium, phosphorus and to fluorine, comes into play the presence of silicon.
Indeed bone demineralization is proportional to the fall in the rate of silicon, while the decrease of calcium and phosphorus appears at a later time. The silicon is to localize in the osteoblast cell that stimulates the construction of the bone, promoting calcium deposition in the active sites of calcification.

The silicon is of considerable importance in keeping elastic tendons, cartilage and arterial walls. An imbalance in the ratio SI-CA, with decrease of the first, produces abnormalities in the formation of cartilage and aging, with loss of elasticity of arterial tissue.

The horsetail (Equisetum arvense) has astringent properties, healing, diuretic, hemostatic, mineral, the latter valuable for bone, cartilage, nails and hair.
You use it as a diuretic viral infections and inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract because it increases the irrigation of the urinary excretory. The drug causes a particular water diuresis without changing the electrolyte balance. It also employs in the case of post-traumatic edema and static. Externally it is used as an adjuvant against difficult healing wounds, eczema, infected lesions of legs and feet, performing compresses or ablutions.

Its mineralizing activity is due to its high content of silicon, which would facilitate an essential role in bone calcification especially in the early stages of their formation and facilitate the composition of the bone callus after fractures. It is believed that the horsetail possesses a conduct preventive action against atherosclerosis, given that silicon is an element of preservation of the integrity of the arteries.
The silicon and other minerals stimulate the connective tissue and are particularly appropriate in facilitating the repair of cartilage in the course of infirmity of the joints. Horsetail also performs an action on the elasticity of tendons and blood vessel walls becoming an excellent product for those who practice sports.

The equisetum arvense contains flavonoids, saponosides (equisetonina), alkaloids (nicotine) and most important measure of the silicates (silicon content in the form of silica). It is this last active ingredient that gives the plant the opportunity to make a contribution in the process of bone calcification as silicon has an essential task in facilitating the deposition of calcium.

The plant also has a diuretic action due to flavonoids (isoquercitina, kaemferolo) contained in it, assisted by mineral ions. The equisetum also has a hemostatic action that is given by the possibility that the same has in activating the apparatus of coagulation fibrin-plastic. The astringent effect on the genitourinary system it supports the efficacy in case of bleeding from cystitis, urethritis and prostatitis.

The equisetum arvense is very rich in silicon, especially in the present conformation of opaline. It represents about 10% of the whole of the dry plant and is essentially soluble type then absorbable by the intestine. This plant is also rich in other minerals.

Horsetail is a plant without flowers that grows in damp places. The name "Fishtail" has been given to it following its typical appearance. The plant is extremely rich in minerals such as potassium and silica that make it an excellent mineralizing in states of fatigue and in case of fractures.

Being also a diuretic plant is used in the solicitation of renal activity. The silica and other minerals, stimulate the connective tissue and are particularly suited to facilitate the restoration of articular cartilage in the course of illness.

Horsetail also performs an action on the elasticity of tendons and blood vessel walls thus becoming an important substance for athletes such as cyclists, tennis players, the marchers and players.

Property of the horsetail

At the equisetum are attributed diuretic properties hemostatic and haemo-poietic. Among the major constituents of this plant there are silicon, the equisetonina, some organic acids, resins, Aluminium Chloride and Potassium. At the silicic acid are attributed the re-mineralizing properties that the plant owns and are found chiefly in beauty and skin treatments. The results on coagulation are most debated while it is safe stimulation of hematopoiesis (formation of red blood cells).

The horsetail is used in treatment protocols for arthrosis and for the benefits it can have on the articular cartilage, and bone tissue.
