Mentha Piperita Oil

The Mint is an aromatic herbaceous plant belonging to the Labiaceae family, present in Europe, Asia and Africa. Known since the time of the ancient Egyptians and Romans, it was and is still used for its antispasmodic properties and respiratory diseases. Present in it are vitamins A, B, C, D and some minerals such as potassium, sodium and magnesium.

In cosmetics, mint is used for body and hair care. Its effect called "iceberg effect" for the sensation of cold which occurs in the treated area, puts products containing mint extract effective against diseases with pruritic symptoms, such as invigorating and refreshing of the skin. Widely used in the preparation of toothpastes and mouthwashes, shampoos and shower gel, it is also used in purifying masks especially for oily skin in massage creams and deodorants.

Menthol is the main component within the peppermint and has a disinfectant and refreshing effect.

There are several reasons why the peppermint oil is often contained in shampoos and conditioners.
