Fennel - Pag. 1

Fennel: natural ingredient of Wonderup

Fennel: natural ingredient of WonderupThe wild fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) loves hills exposed to the sun, the dry places, coastal regions and sub-mountainous regions of south-central Italy. Rarer in northern Italy.

It was chosen as an ingredient in Wonderup because it contains natural estrogenic substances (flavonoids) also called “phytoestrogens”. These compounds exert estrogenic effects, even if the activity in comparison with the real estrogen is rather bland, only 1/400m of the power of estrogen. For this reason is absolutely not toxic or harmful, while remaining efficient.

If estrogen levels are high, phytoestrogens are entering into the estrogen receptor and block the reception of decreasing excess estrogen levels so that, if too high, can be harmful.

Thanks to this rebalancing action are recommended plants containing phytoestrogens for conditions related to the excess of estrogen (such as premenstrual syndrome) as well as for conditions of estrogen deficiency (like menopause and the imbalances menstrual).
Also with these herbs exert an effect on the vascular system. For this reason they are very helpful in relieving symptoms of menopause, because they reduce both the intensity and frequency of hot flushes and nocturnal perspiration.

The traditional use of fennel to increase breast milk in women who have just given birth derives from the presence of phyto-estrogens that are the basis of this property galactogogue.
