Carrot: natural ingredient of Wonderup

The carrot (Daucus carota) is a biennial species belonging to the family Umbelliferae (or Apiaceae).
Includes several subspecies, including the sativus, to which belong the varieties cultivated today.

Carrot: natural ingredient of WonderupTo the spontaneous state is a pest of pastures and uncultivated, common throughout Europe. Similarly there are many cultivated varieties of carrots were used for the root.

She was chosen as an ingredient in Wonderup because it contains compo-
nents with estrogenic activity, above all the beta carotene that, like all phytoes-
trogens, is a substance similar to female hormones, and thus stimulates the natural development of the breast, the main receptor for estrogen in the body female. This property is confirmed by the traditional use of the carrot as a stimulator of breast milk: it acts on the breast by promoting the development of mammary glands.

Characteristics and properties of Carrot

This common vegetable used to prepare sauces and savory dishes, contains several active ingredients including the carotene substance converted by the body in vitamin A.
The Beta Carotene (Vitamin A) is necessary for the proper growth and repair of body tissues. Helps keep skin smooth, soft and healthy, to protect the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, throat and lungs, thereby reducing susceptibi-
lity to infections. Protects against pollutants (antioxidant action against harmful effects caused for free radicals) and contrasts the stationary night blindness, weak eyesight, so it is essential for a good view. It helps in the formation of bones and teeth.

Current medical research shows that foods rich in Beta Carotene will help reduce the risk of lung cancer (especially in smokers who “burn” literally a lot of vitamin A) and some oral cancers. Unlike Vitamin A from fish liver oil, Beta Carotene is not toxic.

A diet rich in fat, work at the computer or with artificial light, pollution, cigarette smoking and other factors, contribute to cause an increased need for vitamin A and beta carotene. The same is true for people who spend much time watching television.
