The action is due to the presence of triterpenoidic saponins responsible for the activities of cholesterol which is significantly reduced both total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol. The main aglycone of these is the saponosyd medicagenic acid accompanied by acids 16-to-idrossimedicagenic and gipsogenic, to which must be, also, the plant’s ability to treat some forms of eczema and psoriasis
  • Thanks to the mild antithrombin action determined by the derivatives of coumarins, alfalfa helps the circulatory system.
