History and curiosities

The hay greek is best known for some of the characteristics which are summarized below.

  • For its galactogogue property was used in 800 in France as well as was much used at the School of Medicine of Salerno; do not forget also its food use and flavoring agent. The greek Hay or Trigonella foenum graecum papilionacea is one of the oldest medicinal plants, used, by the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans
  • Its habitat is in the highlands of Eritrea and Ethiopia, traditionally used since ancient times, it was considered a sacred plant. Cultivated in Egypt called Hilba, South Yemen, India and China called Huluba.
