Can Can:

Ginkgo biloba as a natural aphrodisiac

Can Can: Composition (Ginkgo Biloba)Given the ability to increase the blood supply to the microcirculation, the Ginko is indicated to treat sexual dysfunctions. In a study of 30 patients with sexual dysfunction caused by the intake of antidepressant drugs has been shown that a daily intake of 40/60 mg. of ginkgo extract 2 times a day give positive results in 76% of cases treated (AJ Cohen et al., 1998).

The Ginkgo is a medicinal herb extracts of which, as shown by many studies conducted in Europe, improve blood flow throughout the entire body, particularly in the brain. In Europe, the Ginkgo is prescribed for the problems of the elderly related to brain dysfunction, memory loss, trauma, degeneration of various kinds, degenerative problems of vision that can lead to blindness. In addition, studies show that Ginkgo extract can improve the flow of blood to the penis and vagina and may be useful in the treatment of problems caused by angiopathy.

Ginkgo BilobaThe Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba L.) is now for us Westerners a common ornamental plant in many gardens. In reality it is a wonderful "plant fossil" as well as an important medicinal plant already present in the era where on earth were only ferns and horsetails.

It is also, however, a typical example of how today we can and must use a medicinal plant in order to ensure not only the efficacy but also the safety of use.
In recent decades have been particularly studied the leaves of Ginkgo as a potential source of active substances on the formation mechanism of atherosclerosis. They in fact contain a mixture of flavonoid glycosides and terpene derivatives that are attributed properties microvascular and nootrope: flavonoids (kaempferol, quercetin, isorhamnetin, coumaric acid, catechins, proanthocyanidins, etc..), ginkgolides (A, B, C, M, J), bilobalide.
The mechanism of action of Ginkgo has been well studied in the past decades, it is quite complex and can be summarized as:

  • Reduces spasms arteriolar with improvement of microcirculation
  • Enhance the exchange of oxygen and glucose with tissue
  • Tissue antioxidant effect
  • It inhibits the synthesis of nitric oxide
  • Inhibits PAF, platelet aggregation factor
