Inositol: natural ingredient of Mycolor

Inositol: we find him in the nutsEven the inositol is one of the B vitamins, but is closely related to choline and biotin. Recent studi-
es have shown that vitamin B6, folic acid, pantothenic acid and PABA also have a very narrow activity with inositol.

Inositol is active in the cell linings and in sending of messages indicating the control of cellular activities in the nervous system. Such as choline, the inositol is also present in lecithin.

The animal tissues and some plants contain inositol. In animal tissues is proposed as a constituent of phospholipids, substances that include phosphorus, fatty acids and nitrogenous bases. In plant cells is in the form of phytic acid, an organic acid that binds calcium and iron in an insoluble compound and intervenes with their absorption.

It is effective to stimulate the production of lecithin in the organism. The fats are transported from the liver to the cells with the help of lecithin. The inositol, therefore, contributes to the metabolism of fats and helps to moderate the rate of cholesterol in the blood.

Together with choline prevents the aggregation of fat in the arteries and protects the liver, kidneys and heart. Has been established its efficacy in nutrition of brain cells.
Significant amounts of inositol are located in the nerves of the spinal cord, in the brain and cerebral spinal fluid.

Inositol is essential for the development and preservation of bone marrow cells, for ocular membranes and for the intestines. It is essential for hair growth and can prevent them the shredding and the baldness. Inositol is found in untreated grains, citrus fruits, brewer's yeast, raw molasses, unrefined and in liver.

Absorption and Storage

The nutrients-rich inositol are the fresh and dried fruits, legumes and grainsAbout 7% of inositol assimilated is changed into glucose. Its validity in alleviating ketosis, that is, the incomplete parts of fatty acid, is only one third of that of glucose. The phosphate ester of inositol hinders the absorption of zinc, it is therefore recommended intake of pure inositol.

The amount regularly excreted through the urine is minimal, about 37 milligrams on average. Diabetics eliminate most inositol that the non-diabetics.
The intake of high doses of coffee can lower quantity of inositol present in the human body.

The nutrients-rich inositol are the fresh and dried fruits, legumes and grains. Fruits and vegetables contain more inositol, compared to frozen, canned, salted or unsalted. A medium portion of melon can provide 335 mg. while a slice of whole wheat bread 288 mg., an orange is 307 mg., half a glass of orange juice concentrate 245 mg., half a grapefruit 200 mg. and half a glass of grapefruit juice concentrate 456 mg.
